Santa Barbara State of Mind

I officially have been in Santa Barbara for a week. I can’t believe it took me 25 years to make this move, but better late then never. Although I do miss my family and friends from Seattle, this truly feels like home. I can walk to the beach whenever I want, there is a froyo shop on every corner and I literally get to wear my sunglasses everyday.

I think my favorite part about Santa Barbara is the laid back nature of it. Everyone is genuinely nice and just wants to celebrate and live their lives! It’s right up my alley. There is live music at basically any bar you walk into, and for the most part no dress code or cover. Every bar reminds me of the Wild Buffalo in Bellingham, and I love it.

I can already tell Fall is going to be my favorite season here. Start the morning with a pumpkin spice americano and head to the beach for some reading and writing. It’s everything I dreamt of.

My wardrobe, hair, sunglasses and soul are very happy here. Sunshine & Sparkles ❀

California Here I Come!

I am a big believer in following your dreams, and never holding back. That being said, I have lived in Washington my whole life. I grew up here, went to school here, and have lived here since I graduated college. My heart has always been in Seattle, but something has always been very appealing about moving down the 101 and chasing the sun.Β

Well, the time has come. I decided to move to Santa Barbara, California! I quit my job, sold my furniture, and donated half of my closet to Goodwill. I am heading down to the sunshine state with no job and only what will fit in the trunk of my Mazda! I am scared, excited, giddy and overwhelmed.Β

I will keep everyone updated on my new life in the sunshine state. I will miss Seattle dearly, but so excited for this next adventure. Froyo & Flipflops ❀1956671_5070320_lz
